Someone in the room when the call comes.

Pehrai is a WhatsApp voice assistant that keeps watch over your parents' money, in their language. It answers when they ask "is this call real", keeps their bills, FDs and renewals in order, and tells you only when something needs you.

ಇವರು CBI ಇಂದ ಅಂತ ಹೇಳ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಈಗಲೇ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಅಂತ.
They say they are from CBI and I must send money right now.

Amma, this is a scam call. CBI never phones anyone for money. Hang up. I am letting Anu know.
Flagged as a digital arrest scam. Number reported to 1930.

How a scam call ends with Pehrai. The conversation is illustrative.

It knows the scripts before your parents hear them.

Every scam that empties a senior's account starts with a sentence. Pehrai has heard them all, in every language it speaks, and says the one thing that matters: hang up, then let me check.

Pehrai does not pick up your parents' calls. It is the number they forward the call to, or talk to right after, when something feels off. Most parents know something is off. They just have nobody to ask.

Ten minutes to set up. Then it just keeps watch.

There is no app for your parent to install. Pehrai is a WhatsApp number they talk to, in their own words, in their own language.

You set it up, from anywhere

Save the Pehrai number on your parent's phone on a visit or a video call. Tell it their language, who to alert, and what to keep an eye on. Your parent records a short spoken consent, so it is their assistant, not yours.

Your parent talks to it like a person

A voice note is enough. "When does my FD mature?" "Is this KYC message real?" "Did the pension come?" Pehrai replies by voice, in the same language, and takes the next step when there is one.

You hear from it only when it matters

One short summary a week. An alert only when a decision is yours: a suspicious call, a renewal that needs a signature, an FD that is about to auto-renew at a bad rate. No dashboard to check. No guilt for not checking.

What it keeps an eye on.

The everyday things that go wrong quietly, and the one thing that goes wrong loudly.

Suspicious calls and messages
Digital arrest, courier, KYC, OTP, "your son is in trouble" voice clones. Checked in seconds, reported to 1930 when real.
FD and SCSS maturities
What matures when, at what rate, and whether it is about to auto-renew at a worse one.
Insurance renewals
Health and life premiums, with the grace period counted down and the child told before it lapses.
Pension credits
Did it arrive, was it the right amount, and when is the life certificate due.
Bills and auto-debits
Electricity, gas, phone, society dues. Paid, unpaid, or paid twice.
Paperwork with a deadline
Nomination updates, address proofs, bank KYC. The forms drafted, the branch visit planned.

For the parent

You do not need a new app, a new password, or to type anything. You talk to Pehrai the way you would talk to a helpful neighbour who happens to know your bank. It is patient, it never judges a question, and it will say "hang up" when it needs to.

Ask it anything. "Is this KYC message real?" "When does my FD mature?" "Did the pension come?"Voice note in, voice note back, in your language.

For you, the child

You are in Bengaluru, Pune, Dubai or New Jersey. You cannot be there when the phone rings. Pehrai is. It gives you one summary a week and interrupts you only when a decision is yours, so the calls with your parents can be about something other than money.

Most weeks the summary will say the same four words: nothing needed from you. That is the product working.

Less than a monthly phone bill. For both of you.

Founding families get the launch price for as long as they stay. There is no contract and no setup fee, and you can stop any month.

Questions parents and children ask.

Does my parent need a smartphone?

A phone with WhatsApp is ideal, because voice notes are the easiest thing for most parents. If they use a basic phone, Pehrai can work over a regular phone call. Ask us during setup.

Which languages does it speak?

Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and English at launch, including the mixed Kannada-English or Hinglish most families actually speak. Telugu and Marathi follow. Your parent picks the language; you can read everything in English.

Can Pehrai move money or access my parent's bank account?

No. Pehrai never moves money, never asks for OTPs, and does not log in to any bank. It works from the SMS alerts and statements your parent chooses to share, and from what they tell it. If a bank helpline needs calling, Pehrai helps your parent make the call.

Who can see what?

Your parent is the owner of their information and records a spoken consent at setup. You are a named viewer. You see summaries and alerts, not every conversation. Your parent can change or withdraw that at any time by saying so. Data stays in India.

What if it misses a scam?

Pehrai detects, warns and helps, and it is very good at the common scripts. It does not promise that nothing bad will ever happen, and no honest product can. What it changes is that your parent has someone to ask before money moves, and you find out in minutes, not months.

When can we start?

A small pilot with families in Karnataka and abroad starts in October. Founding families from the waitlist join through November and December, in the order they signed up. You will get a WhatsApp message from a person, not a bot, when it is your turn.

Join the waitlist.

Tell us where your parents are and where you are. That is enough for now. You will hear from a person within a week, and your spot in the founding hundred is held from the day you sign up.
